This picture reminds me of my old kitchen. It was small apartment, but had a large kitchen with a beautiful tile backsplash. I have seen many, many kitchens that look terrific with this type of backsplash. Because the backsplash was brick, it was a little tougher to clean, but other than that, I was very pleased with the look and feel it added to my kitchen.
If you are wondering what a backsplash is, allow me to explain. A Kitchen backsplash is what goes on the wall behind your stove. It is used primarily to catch flying food when you are cooking. For instance, when you are cooking bacon, what becomes airborne? GREASE! It's hot and will splash you and anything else in the near vicinity with very little warning.
When you are cooking with bacon or any other greasy food it sounds a bit like food warfare. Grease pops and burns you, your water boils over and, sometimes, we catch SOMETHING on fire. A backsplash is to prevent your wall or the paint on the wall from being destroyed, after all, it is in the line of fire.
This is why you see brick, tile and other fire resistant materials behind a stove. That is simply because, if your stove catches fire, the counter and the backsplash can prevent the fire from climbing your walls.
However, in the case of some of these pictures, if the fire did get high enough it could catch the cabinetry on fire and that would spread. So always remember to keep a fire extinguisher close to your stove. Mine is under my kitchen sink, which is directly across from my stove.
The pictures above and below this paragraph are my favorite. On the backsplash above the mural is amazing. Along with the wood work around the stove as well. The one below is simply gorgeous the design on the hood sets the backsplash off perfectly. Of course, it helps to have such a beautiful stove as below.

If you read the previous entries you will see this is what they are saying is the tile in picture 1. I don't think it looks as good on the web-site as the picture so I decided not to go with it. It has more grey and the glass stones seem less red then I would have liked. Good Luck! I believe that is the backsplash you are ALL asking about.

Has anyone seen the first pic in person? When I went to the site suggested the actual tiles look more grey and the glass pieces look yellow more than the red/brown in the pic. Can anyone tell me the actual colors?

Regarding the first backsplash picture - you can probably bring the picture to your local tile store and they can get you the tiles you need to make a backsplash that looks like that. I don't think that kind of backsplash is purchased as a set - it is created using a variety of coordinating tiles. They have so many tile murals to choose from and a great Gallery of installation pictures.
